Privacy policy

Effective date: 20 September 2026.

This policy explains what Label Matter (labelmatter.com) does with information when you use the site. Label Matter is operated by an individual sole proprietor — there is no company behind it — and the operator is responsible for the information described here.

Browsing does not require an account

You can browse every category, product page and ranking without signing in. There is no public sign-up, no newsletter and no contact form. No cookies are set when you load a page.

What is recorded when you click a retailer link

When you follow a link from a product page to a retailer, the site records a row containing only:

  • the product identifier;
  • the path of the page you clicked from;
  • a coarse referrer category (for example internal, search, social, direct);
  • the affiliate tag used on that link;
  • the time of the click.

No IP address, device identifier, user agent or other personal identifier is stored on that row. The purpose is to understand which pages lead to retailer visits. It is not used to build a profile of you, and it is not sold or shared for advertising.

Accounts

Operator and administrator accounts exist for maintaining the catalog. An account stores a name, an email address and a securely hashed password. These accounts are not available for public registration. If you are an operator, your account data is used only to authenticate you and to attribute catalog changes.

Third parties that process data on our behalf

  • Vercel — hosting and edge delivery, and privacy-friendly aggregate analytics. See the Vercel privacy policy.
  • Neon — managed Postgres database hosting. See the Neon privacy policy.
  • Amazon Associates — when you click a retailer link, Amazon and its affiliates may set their own cookies and process data under their own policies. See the Amazon privacy notice. [confirm the full list of affiliate networks in use]

Where data is processed

The site and database are hosted in the United States. [confirm regions and any transfer mechanism your counsel requires]

How long data is kept

Click records are retained in aggregate. [retention period — to be set] Operator account records are kept while the account is active.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because the site stores no personal identifier for ordinary visitors, we may be unable to locate a record relating to you. To make a request, contact support@labelmatter.com.

[counsel: confirm whether CCPA/CPRA or another state regime applies at your revenue and data thresholds, and whether a "Do Not Sell or Share" link is required]

Children

The site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated. [decide whether material changes require notice]
