Terms of service
Effective date: 20 September 2026.
These terms govern your use of labelmatter.com, operated by an individual sole proprietor. By using the site you agree to them.
What this service is
Label Matter publishes an informational rating (PureScore, 0–100) and ingredient breakdowns for consumer products. We are not a retailer and we do not sell products. We are not affiliated with the brands or retailers shown, and a rating is not an endorsement or a condemnation of any product or company.
Not advice
PureScore is informational and is not medical, nutritional, legal or safety advice. Ratings and ingredient data may be incomplete, out of date or incorrect. Always read the product label and consult a qualified professional before making a decision that affects your health or safety — particularly for allergies, medical conditions, pregnancy or children.
No warranty
The site and its data are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. [counsel: confirm warranty disclaimer wording and its enforceability]
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of the site. [counsel: set any liability cap and confirm enforceability]
Affiliate links and disclosure
Some links to retailers are affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. This never changes the rating a product receives — ratings are produced by the ranking methodology, not by commercial relationships. See how PureScore works and our data sources.
Data, licences and attribution
Product and ingredient data is derived from third-party sources used under their own licences (including Open Food Facts, Open Beauty Facts and Open Products Facts under ODbL v1.0). Attribution is published on the data sources page. If you believe content infringes your rights, contact support@labelmatter.com.
Acceptable use
You agree not to scrape, overload, reverse-engineer or interfere with the site, and not to use it in a way that breaks applicable law. [counsel: confirm any scraping or rate-limit terms you want enforced]
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction — which does not remove the protection of the mandatory law where you live if you are a consumer.
